1-1 Emotional Support

Life can be challenging for children, young people and their families, many are still recovering from the pandemic, anxiety is higher, transitions seem harder, the cost of living has gone up and waiting lists for counselling and mental health services can take time.

Our emotional support sessions are not a substitute for specialist services but can help to provide a safe space where you can discuss your feelings with people trained in peer support, including active listening and empathy, without judgement.

The main purpose of the emotional support is to help integrate children, young people and their families into group environments and is used mainly for those who have been feeling too anxious or have been isolated for a variety of reasons. The sessions are limited to six free sessions as part of the PAM programme with the aim of building self-esteem and confidence to mix with others. During these sessions the children, young people and their families can meet our peer mentors and group leaders, creating a connection and a friendly face supporting them to join our workshops, singing groups, mindfulness activities and peer support.
